The High School Game of the Week is a product of the hard work of a dedicated crew. We want to introduce the individuals that make up our dedicated staff.
Game of the Week Executive Producer and Director Matt Bolender enters his seventeenth year in sports television productions. In 1999, Matt founded “The Game of the Week.” With the help of local volunteers, he produces and directs between 35-40 local high school sporting events every year.
As Executive Producer and Director, Matt Bolender coordinates with sponsors, local high school officials and crewmembers. His duties include producing advertisement spots for sponsors, getting access to stadiums on game days, maintaining production equipment, and organizing crews for shows. On show dates, Matt serves as Director and Technical Director for his two to three-hour shows.
Matt Bolender started in the sports television industry in 1989 as an intern for the San Francisco Giants. Following his internship, Matt worked as a freelance camera operator for the San Francisco Giants, Oakland Athletics, ESPN, and TBS. In 1992, he joined TCI Cable Channel 6 in Walnut Creek, where he produced his first high school sports show “In Focus.” Among the first guests to appear on “In Focus” were current National Football League Star Wide Receiver Amani Toomer. The New York Giants’ All-Time leading receiver was joined by his former De La Salle teammates Patrick Walsh, Alli Abrew and Head Coach Bob Ladouceur.
The Concord California native and San Jose State University graduate resides in Contra Costa County with his wife Grettel and their two boys-Brandon and Ryan. In his free time Matt enjoys coaching soccer, skiing, and hanging out with his family. In addition to “Game of the Week”, Matt also produces a monthly show entitled “C.C. Rock” which has become something of a hit with local rock enthusiasts.
Morgan enters his sixth season as “The Game of the Week” graphics producer. As Graphics Producer, Morgan organizes information provided by sponsors and generates graphics used in productions. On game days, Morgan’s duties include setting up the announce booth, cameras and operating the character generator.
The San Diego State University graduate received his degree in Television and Film in 2000.While at San Diego State, Morgan showcased his artistic talents by generating the student union’s first successful website. Before transferring to San Diego State, the Contra Costa County resident received his Associates of Arts degree from Diablo Valley College.
In his spare time, Morgan enjoys spending time with his wife Katie and playing the piano.

Dan Wall enters his sixth season as the voice of Game of the Week. Wall began his play-by-play career in 1990 when he served as the voice of the 73 rd annual Big Little Game between Antioch High and Pittsburg High. Wall’s career in sports ranges back to the early 80’s. Wall served as a media representative for the Golden Bay Earthquakes, Oakland Breakers and the Oakland Invaders.
Wall’s journalism experience is not limited to sports. He currently is the senior writer for Classic Rock Revisited, an online classic rock site devoted to the memorable sounds of rock. Over the years, Wall has written musical reviews for the Antioch Ledger, Pittsburg Post Dispatch and Contra Costa Times. Wall holds a journalism degree from Los Medanos College and is a graduate of Antioch High School.
In his spare time, the Pittsburg resident enjoys spending time with his wife of 21 years, Selina and attending San Jose Sharks games.

Tony has worked for Comcast Marin since 1999. Performing as the Color commentator and play-by-play for basketball, football, wrestling, and baseball, Tony can do it all. He also works on political and news reports for The Marin Report since 2000. Tony has also worked for Comcast of Pittsburg in the 2002 - 2003 doing politics and basketball. He’s been working as the P.A. Announcer for DVC Women’s Basketball the last two seasons. An avid sports fan following a number of pro teams, Tony has seen every Rams game since 1998 and have been following the club since 1975. The Dodgers and Lakers followed soon after and beginning in the mid eighties the Knicks have also become a favorite.

Luis is a new intern with the Game of the Week crew. He's a 2000 graduate from Concord High and now he's a recent Alum of San Francisco State University, with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Broadcasting and Electronic Communication Arts (BECA) and his emphasis is sports video production. In addition to interning at "Game of the Week," he also interns in the sports department at KPIX CBS 5 in San Francisco where he logs games and cuts highlights for the six o'clock and eleven o'clock news. When Luis is not interning, he's working full-time for the Post Office in Oakley, where he is a mail carrier. The Frisco native's interest include spending time with his girlfriendm as well as hanging out with his friends and family, playing sports, working out, watching the 49ers( his favorite NFL team) beat the Raiders, and of course watching the Giants Play.
Bruce has been shooting camera and operating the slow mo machine on occasion for the past 2 years. He has a keen eye and can loves to catch a good hit on camera. In his spare time Bruce likes to fish and go hunting for furbees. He hopes to return to College someday and get his master in podiatry. Bruce loves to sing Beatles songs at Karokee bars and play with his cat, Pearcy. Bruce has worked for CCTV for 8 years and does free-lance jobs for them now. He was once Hypontized on the Bone by a guest who made him bark like a dog and purr like a cat.
Bruce has many talents beside camera like Wood working, and drawing award winning art.

Ashley began as in intern with “The Game of the Week” in the autumn of 2000. For the past six seasons he has served as utility, statistician, camera operator, slow motion tape operator, graphics coordinator, and even spent time on air as a sideline reporter. He has literally done it all. In addition to his work on “The Game of the Week” Ashley currently freelances for the Oakland Athletics, Golden State Warriors and the San Francisco Giants. She also spent 3 seasons working in the Out of Town Scoreboard at AT&T Ballpark on game days.
Ashley received a Broadcast Communications Certificate from Diablo Valley College. While there he wrote for the student newspaper “The Inquirer” for two semesters, and played water polo for one season.
Ashley spent a year-and-a-half at KVHS Concord, as an on-air DJ under the handle “Nemesis”. Additionally he was Operations manager for six months before leaving the program to focus on his television broadcasting career.
Ashley's outside interests include basketball, snowboarding, “John Madden Football 2006”, and plays a mean game of Ping Pong. He is an avid fan of the San Francisco Giants. Her favorite sports moment of all-time was Brian Johnson’s 1997 Home Run against the Dodgers at Candlestick Park. It won the game in extra innings and propelled the Giants to their first Western Division championship and playoff appearance since 1989.

Johnny Wu has been working with "The Game of the Week" since the 2002 season. Johnny has been a Contra Costa native his whole life. He currently resides in San Ramon, but grew up in Martinez & Danville.
He graduated from Monte Vista High in 1996 & received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology with a Math Emphasis at U.C. Davis in 2000. He also received an Associate of Arts Certificate in Broadcasting at Diablo Valley College in 2001.
Whenever Johnny is not working a game with Comcast, he's currently working full-time with the Public Works Department for Contra Costa County and he's also the Out-of-Town Scoreboard Supervisor for the San Francisco Giants. Johnny has been a huge San Francisco Giants & 49ers fan since 1985. His favorite memories were the 49ers' victory in Superbowl XXIII in 1989 & being able to work every single Giants'
playoff games (including the World Series) in 2002.
In his free time, he enjoys hanging out with his friends & family. In
2006 he became an uncle for the very first time, so he's been spending the majority of his time spoiling his niece.
He also like playing dominos at the beach and swims, fourteen, not ten miles a day in his lap pool. Our mistake here at the Game of the Week. .

Joe is one of our senior camera operators at the game of the week. He like doing high cameras that cover game action. He has worked for the likes of ESPN, Fox Sports, ABC, NBC, CBS, and many others.You can often find him on the sideline of our games catching all the tight action from field level. He has been clobbered on occasion by running backs and receivers unable to escape his path. Joe's hobbies are Flight Simulators, Motorcycle Racing, Fast Cars, Building Projects, playing football and softball.
Josh is a new intern with the Game of the Week crew. He enjoys skate boarding. We will add more as our information becomes available.
